Thursday was Sing, Dance and Share day in the countdown. All the first graders met in the theater and entertained us with great insect songs and facts. I hope you were all able to join us. It was a fabulous show! Unfortunately, many students in our class were out sick. We really missed you guys!

Yesterday was Reading Reading Reading Day!Many parents joined us for this special day. We broke into small groups and the kids enjoyed listening to the moms read new books to them. After 30 minutes of listening to books, the kids sat around the room in their reading spots and read books to the moms. The kids had a great time and I think so did the moms. It was also fun for me to step back and watch the children. They have come so far this year! It's incredible!

Today was Insect day in class. In the morning we had a practice on stage for our insect concert. Then we painted our bug shirts and watched a Magic School Bus movie on butterflies and ants. In the afternoon we went outside and observed insects and minibeasts in nature. What a fun day working with insects and minibeasts!
Today our First Grade Countdown started. It was Fun with Math Day. We enjoyed a fun afternoon together playing a variety of our favorite math games. The kids have come so far this year in Math! It was fun to sit down and play games together. Thanks to the moms who joined in on the fun!
The first grade teachers got together and came up with the idea of a first grade countdown. We wanted to celebrate the hard work we've been doing all year and have a little fun on the last 2 weeks of school. The countdown starts on Monday, May 30th and goes until the last day of school. Below is our FIRST GRADE countdown. Anything in red involves parents.
